Did you say Winwick Mum socks?
The Winwick Mum is an amazing sock pattern designer, and the creator of the best sock knitting tutorials for those just getting started. In fact, it's where I learnt to knit socks and its the place I send every interested sock-knitter when we talk at yarn shows, every single pattern is well written and clear and the tutorials have just the right amount of photos to reassure you you're on the right path!
So, when I was lucky enough to meet Winwick Mum in real life at my local yarn shop opening (along with some other very special knitting friends that day) I was a little star-struck! And even now as I consider her a friend, I'm still a so excited and amazed that she agreed to collaborate with me on this months additions to the Flower Power Fund! And the resulting sock she designed is just perfect!
Sun Spot Socks have the same beautiful fit I've always loved with Winwick Mums' socks, and have a subtle pattern feature mimicking the spots and flares of the sun, perfect for both of this months colourways!
The sock pattern is available as a digital download from Winwick Mum via Ravelry, or Payhip and for the month of June a donation to the Flower Power Fund will be made every copy sold (You can find out all about the Sun Spot Socks on Winwick Mums' latest Blog post here.). It's also available as a printed version here, so those of you who like a paper copy or want to purchase the pattern with your yarns can do so! For every printed pattern sold Yarn Unique will match the Winwick Mum donation to the fund, boosting our total raised even more!
